What’s been happening? Well I started my new treatment (2 chemo drugs and 1 immunotherapy drug). It’s been pretty brutal and the side effects have been awful, having said that I’ve lost 3 stone so back into my skinny wardrobe (every cloud!). After only one cycle I’ve had a CT scan and I’ve had some shrinkage, plus the liver nodules are now barely visible so really good news!
After worrying about taking Doris abroad, me and Mark took her to Poland for a short break over Easter. She was no bother, although she kept telling me to drink Vodka! Naughty Doris! Since starting this treatment the drainage has got less and less, which is really good but I’ve said I’ll hang on to Doris for now just in case it’s treatment responsive. I’d hate to see her go only to have her replaced when this treatment finishes.
So I’ve had 2 cycles now and my oncologist wants me to have 4 in total, the plan is then to stop the chemotherapy and just continue on with the immunotherapy drug and monitor with CT scans. I’m hoping I have some kind of reprieve and that works for a time because I’m worn out!
We’ve booked our family holiday for August and I’m very much looking forward to spending some downtime with Mark and the girls. By this time Liv will have finished her A level exams and Maddy will have finished her GCSE’s so they’ll be glad if some R&R too I bet! Dos cervezas por favor! Must learn what that is in Greek! Yamas!
great news Helen! Keep doing you and enjoy every last minute of your holiday xxx
